#TinyBrushStrokes : Mughal Miniature Painting Workshop by Padma Shri S Shakir Ali : Workshop 18

Date: 11-Dec-2021 | Time: 11:00:00

INR 499/- PER PERSON (All inclusive)

The genesis of Mughal miniature painting is thought to be one of the pivotal points of visual history of India. A fusion of Indian style and Safavid style of the Persian school gave birth to the Mughal School of miniature painting and took its concrete shape under the patronage of Akbar from 1560 A.D.

The painting technique used is simple, consisting of opaque watercolour on paper. Different coloured grounds can be used to define major areas of the composition. Gracious strokes artfully done with a single haired brush, mark the detailing in the painting. The intricacy is so fine that the painting cannot be viewed alone with the naked eye, but needs a magnifying glass to view the details. During the workshop #TinyBrushStrokes artist S Shakir Ali will explain the basics of miniature painting, demonstrate the techniques, and teach you to make your first miniature painting. The workshop will be in Hindi.
