As a genre, Indian war movies have not attained popularity. In trying to balance between entertainment and history, there is a serious lack of historical authenticity. At our Online Talk #LightsCameraWar, military history enthusiast KV Ramesh looks at some of the popular and lesser known Indian war movies that reflect India at war and how they have been depicted on screen. He looks at factors such as the real history behind the plots, the equipment and uniforms depicted, the use of music in the context and setting and the use of “filmy” coincidences, and other plot devices. He is currently an independent consultant and advisor in the medical equipment business sector. His interests include music, movies, and military and other history.
