#BazaarsBeforeBombay - Market Systems In Pre-Colonial Mumbai By Dr. Bina Sengar: Talk 198

Market systems are the oldest forms of human interactions and cultural continuation for human societies. Since ages, societies have transformed and adapted to the global changes because of market interactions and social inclusions made possible by markets or bazaars. Markets and trade connectedness in pre-colonial societies had their own traits, trends and passages of navigation. At our Online Talk #BazaarsBeforeBombay, historian Dr. Bina Sengar explains how these passages were navigated and and how markets flourished in the pre-British era on the islands of Bombay or Salsette. She also discusses how the trading communities navigated and connected to bridge the cultural and commercial necessities and desires.
