Dr Prakash Joshi is a physician by profession but a collector of Hindi film memorabilia by passion. His collection encompasses music records, photographs of film stars, film posters, movie booklets and other paraphernalia related with Hindi movies, especially from the years 1935 to 1965. At our Online Talk #MovieMemories, he shares parts of his collection with us while talking about the movies, music and stars of the Black & White era.

Dr Prakash Joshi has been collecting movie memorabilia for the last 50 years. He has curated and exhibited his collection on several occasions, most recently on the completion of 75 years of independence, when he showcased photographs and posters of 75 heroines from the B&W era at NCPA’s Piramal Art Gallery. His previous exhibitions include retrospectives on Pran, Nalini Jaywant, Kamini Kaushal and Waheeda Rehman among others.
