The oldest textile fragments found in Egypt have an Indian connection. And one of the oldest evidences of block printing on textiles comes from the Indus Valley civilisation. Our handcrafted textiles are a part of our intangible living heritage. At our Online Talk #TextileTales, textile heritage expert Savitha Suri talks about the efforts at documenting India’s textile heritage and conserving its varied forms. She also delves into the inadequate attention one pays to this aspect of our clothes and the wider economic, social, cultural and ecological impact our clothing choices have. The session hopes to outline simple efforts that an individual could take to make a difference.
Please note that the event link will be shared on email 45 minutes before the scheduled time of the talk.
