#AnotherMarathaCentury: Panipat to Khadki: Online Masterclass by Dr Uday.S.Kulkarni
About the session:
#TheMarathaCentury masterclass covered the period starting from the year 1646 when Raja Shivaji won his first fort till the third battle of Panipat.
After a brief recap of the first talk, #AnotherMarathaCentury will deal with the turbulence generated all over India after Panipat 1761 when Madhavrao began his reign as Peshwa, which saw a Maratha resurgence all over India. After his early death in 1772 and the brief tenure of the ill fated Narayanrao, the first Anglo Maratha war broke out and extended over eight years. From here to 1818 was a period of fierce Anglo Maratha rivalry for the Empire of India. Dr Uday S. Kulkarni will take us through this eventful and momentous period of six decades when we - once again - lost our freedom to a foreign power.
