This day, 123 years ago, the City of Bombay Improvement Trust came into being. It was given the task of improving the city's sanitary conditions and making it a more liveable place. The development of the city areas from Dadar-Matunga to Sion and Mahim, as well as important East-West and North-South roads in the island city, can be directly attributed to the Trust. The Trust’s headquarters today house the Atmasing Jessasing Bankebihari ENT Hospital
