The traditional way of making Ganpati idols is by using Shadu maati (clay). Unfortunately, plaster of Paris, which is not eco-friendly unlike clay, has become more popular for idol-making in modern times. At the #MangalMurti workshop at Khaki Lab, Fort, artist and art educator Yash Gupte will teach beginners as well as experienced artists how to create their own eco-friendly Ganpati idol using natural Shadu clay. The workshop includes:
- Step-by-step guidance throughout the process
- Natural Shadu clay and all required materials
- Base for the idol
- Basic sculpting tools
